Award Winning Communication Skills
Anderson Strategy can call on the experience of one of the most experienced public figures in Scotland. These skills were tested to the full when Scotland was chosen to host the G8 Summit in 2005.

As City Leader Donald was at the centre of the preparation, planning and communications for arguably the most important event ever staged in Scotland.

Leading from the front he was able to ensure that the public and private sector in the city rose to the many challenges presented by an event that had the capacity to seriously damage the reputation of Scotland's Capital.

In addition to the practical issues, alarm bells rang when Bob Geldof called for a million people to 'Meet in Edinburgh'. In addition a completely new 'Live8' concert had to be organised from scratch in only six weeks, that in addition to a series of other major events. Massive support for the 'Make Poverty History' Campaign was maintained in the city throughout.

Handling all of the issues was a massive challenge. Edinburgh, with Donald's help rose magnificently to that challenge and the event passed off with relatively few negative consequencies, and with the reputation of Edinburgh and Scotland intact.

This success was recognised when in 2006 the Chartered Institute of Public Relations awarded Edinburgh Council awards for the handling of the G8 Summit, including the prestigous Grand Prix Award. Having led the communications throughout, the awards are in no small way a recognition of some very special skills displayed by Donald Anderson during such a massive challenge.
